About SSCS

Intro in Italian

Our Team

The Security Skills Certification Scheme (SSCS)  is a non-governmental, international and independent body.

We act within the Private Security Industry through a registered scheme to verify that individuals meet the mandatory requirements for working in this Industry.

We are a certification body that on the one hand provides professional badges to individuals who meet the mandatory requirements to work in this sector and on the other hand designs, develops and manages evaluation schemes that lead to regulated qualifications. As Awarding Body, SSCS draws inspiration from the British learning specifications of the SIA (Security Industry Authority), considering them the most comprehensive and well-organized internationally.

The SSCS's Directors come from the International Security Industry, an international team of security experts with an extensive hands-on experience from all levels of the industry. We all believe in making the industry more secure.

Our mission is to protect employers and contractors in one hand with professionals in the other. Our highly skilled team has worked diligently for over 8 years, studying a recognition scheme of professions in the security field.

Please note: The SSCS is in no way a substitute for the UK's Security Industry Authority (SIA) or any other governmental body in any country that regulates the security industry.

Our Organization

Approved Training Centres (ATC)

Approved Training Centres (ATCs) are organisations that have demonstrated their ability to operate in full compliance with the requirements set out in the SSCS Scheme Guide, as well as any qualification-specific requirements defined within the relevant qualification specifications.

ATCs are authorised by SSCS to:

• deliver SSCS-approved training programmes;

• prepare learners for SSCS certification;

• submit candidates for assessment and certification;

• support eligible learners in applying for the SSCS card-badge.

Approved Training Centres operate under continuous quality assurance and are subject to internal and external verification processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and integrity of delivery.

Approved Trainers (AT)

Approved Trainers (ATs) are individuals who have demonstrated that they are qualified, competent, and professionally suitable to deliver training in accordance with the requirements set out in the SSCS Scheme Guide and the relevant qualification specifications.

Approved Trainers are authorised to:

• deliver SSCS-aligned training within Approved Training Centres;

• uphold SSCS educational, ethical, and professional standards;

• contribute to the consistent and structured delivery of SSCS qualifications.

Approved Trainers remain subject to ongoing monitoring and verification to ensure continued compliance with SSCS standards.

Authorised Agencies (AA)

Authorised Agencies (AAs) are organisations that have demonstrated their ability to operate in accordance with the requirements set out in the SSCS Scheme Guide and any applicable qualification-specific requirements.

Authorised Agencies are authorised by SSCS to:

• promote the SSCS Scheme within a defined territory;

• provide information and administrative assistance to individuals and organisations applying for SSCS badges and certifications;

• support applications to become an SSCS Approved Training Centre, Approved Trainer, Approved Contractor, or Verifier;

• act as an official point of contact between SSCS and local stakeholders.

Authorised Agencies do not issue certifications or badges but support and facilitate access to the SSCS system in accordance with SSCS procedures.

Country Master Licence (CML)

The Country Master Licence (CML) represents the highest level of partnership within the SSCS framework and is granted on an exclusive territorial basis.

Country Masters are organisations or individuals authorised by SSCS to:

• develop, represent, and manage the SSCS Scheme at national level;

• coordinate Authorised Agencies, Approved Training Centres, Approved Contractors, and other SSCS entities within their territory;

• promote SSCS standards as the national reference framework;

• support strategic market development in alignment with SSCS policies.

While Country Masters focus on strategic growth and partnerships, all core operational activities—including badge production, certification issuance, database management, and verification systems—remain under the direct control of SSCS.

Approved Contractors (AC)

Approved Contractors (ACs) are organisations providing security services that have demonstrated compliance with the requirements set out in the SSCS Approved Contractor Scheme.

Approved Contractors:

• operate according to recognised international standards of professionalism and ethics;

• employ security personnel whose qualifications and identities are verifiable through the SSCS system;

• may display SSCS Approved Contractor status in accordance with SSCS branding guidelines.

This status supports transparency, risk mitigation, and credibility for organisations operating in private, corporate, and international security environments.

SSCS Secure Retail Partners (SRP)

SSCS Secure Retail Partners (SRPs) are retail organisations or commercial chains that have adopted SSCS standards for the provision of security services within their premises.

Secure Retail Partners:

• engage exclusively SSCS Approved Contractors for security services;

• ensure that deployed security personnel hold valid SSCS card-badges;

• demonstrate a commitment to international standards of safety, responsibility, and brand protection.

This programme is designed to enhance customer confidence, reduce operational risk, and promote best practice within retail security environments.

External Verifiers (EV)

External Verifiers (EVs) are individuals appointed directly by SSCS and are responsible for ensuring that Approved Training Centres, Authorised Agencies, Approved Trainers, and other SSCS entities operate in compliance with the requirements set out in the SSCS Scheme Guide.

External Verifiers:

• conduct audits and compliance reviews;

• verify assessment and certification processes;

• ensure the integrity and consistency of SSCS qualifications and operations.

Internal Verifiers (IV)

Internal Verifiers (IVs) are individuals appointed within SSCS Approved Training Centres and are responsible for internal quality assurance.

Internal Verifiers:

• monitor training delivery and assessment within their centre;

• ensure compliance with SSCS standards and qualification specifications;

• support continuous improvement prior to external verification.
